Vw Bus Sliding Door Won't Open

Don't believe those lying commercials: long before chrysler even imagined a minivan vw had introduced our sliding door back in 1967. the door first appeared as an m-code option with for the 1967 splitwindow bus and was standard on the baywindow bus.. Graphite? graphite makes for good pencils but it wont’ fix a vw door latch/lock that hasn’t seen any petroleum products for 40 years. sliding door. for the front latch on a bus sliding door, you can’t apply grease to the springs because the entire mechanism is completely enclosed.. This is a good working vw 1968-1970 right hand sliding door original german latch remote. this unit is used to unlock, unlatch ,slide the door open and lock the door..

Open door and observe if your slovenly friends have all caved-in the side of the sliding door cover by leaning against it. if you see contact between the hinge assembly and the cover, now is the time to go along the bottom edge of the cover and jerk it back out all along the length.. I went to adjust my sliding door this afternoon and found it was all the way adjusted.. ( the rod ) not the cable bently suggests shortening the rod how far should i trim it down my door closes, slides, latches fine locks and unlocks perfectly. all 4 corners seal but on opening it doesnt "popp" open like other doors ive seen. Passenger door won't open from the inside. faulty lock unit.after 4 trips to vw at 60 mile round trips fixed. to keep the thread up to date with similar problems - just took my t6 in to the dealer, both sliding doors refusing the open/close from the inside. both locks being replaced next week..
